Write for us

We welcome well-shaped ideas about pastimes, shared leisure and creative play. A strong contribution offers readers a clear way into its subject without assuming that everyone has the same time, resources or interests.

What fits

Proposals may explain how an activity works, compare different ways to begin, explore the history of a pastime or offer a considered plan for a particular occasion. We are interested in specific subjects with a useful point of view, not broad roundups that repeat familiar advice.

A useful pitch

Tell us the working idea, the reader it is for, the central point and what the piece would help that reader understand or decide. Mention the examples or sources you expect to use and disclose any relevant commercial connection. Please send a proposal before preparing a full article.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option for your pitch. Include enough detail for us to understand the piece, but do not send confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.
